3 Easy Habits to Feel Your Best
Do you find yourself feeling tired and unproductive by the end of your day? Here are 3 easy and quick healthy habits to do everyday to help you feel your best!
#1 Hydrate
Starting your day off with a full glass of water will help you kick start your day. You may not feel like it, but you’re likely dehydrated when you first wake up in the morning after sleeping for 6-8 hours. Chris Bailey from A Life of Productivity advises to make it a habit to drink at least 16 ounces of water first thing in the morning. Your body will feel refreshed, you’ll begin flushing out toxins and it will boost your metabolism throughout the rest of the day! A good rule of thumb is to drink about 2 liters every day, (warmer climates or if exercising requires even more!). Even better (and tastier) – squeeze a lemon slice in there! As they say, “easy peazy, lemon squeezy”!

#2 Hit the Hay
It’s immensely important to get enough sleep for your mind and body to recover from each day. Most adults require anywhere from 6-8 hours of sleep. Getting enough sleep can help you conquer each day to the best of your abilities. Waking up rested will help you be productive throughout the day, it will keep your immune system strong, and will improve your mood and reaction times and the benefit list goes on and on. Getting more sleep is an easy fix for most! How to get more sleep? Start a regular evening routine. Go to bed, turn off the screens and read a book for an hour or so before you want to go to sleep – it will help you wind down and relax your mind to get a good night’s sleep.
#3 Get Moving
Get moving! Nowadays we tend to live a fairly sedentary lifestyle. With desk jobs at work or marathon study sessions at school, it can be difficult to find time to get up and move! Make it a habit to get up, walk around and move your muscles and joints every 45 to 60 minutes (even more if you can!). Until it becomes a habit, set a timer to remind you to do so. Our bodies are meant to move so don’t allow yourself to be sedentary all day. Go for a quick stroll around the office, or instead of emailing a colleague with a question, go and visit them at their desks. It’s an easy way to get up and move and it will help you stay energized throughout the day.

These 3 easy and quick habits will help steer you in the right direction to more healthy, everyday practices leading you on the road to a healthier, happier self!
